Monarch – Proud Sponsors of Worldskills Australia Worldskills Australia is a social enterprise whose purpose is to promote and grow the excellence of skills in the vocational education and training sectors. This is achieved by supporting young Australians to excel in their chosen field, by encouraging them to participate in WorldSkills events to test themselves against their peers. WorldSkills hosts Australia’s most prestigious skills events, with a huge range of competitions for various fields such as baking, hairdressing, horticulture and plastering.

To support emerging leaders in the Painting & Decorating industry, Monarch is proud to sponsor WorldSkills for some exciting upcoming competitions.

WorldSkills International Competition 2024 – Lyon, France

The WorldSkills International Competition is held every two years and is made up of competitors from 85 nations. Monarch will be sponsoring Australia’s Painting & Decorating team to get them over to France to participate on the world stage.

The participants, also known as The Skillaroos, have undergone a long journey to get to this stage. This includes competing in a one-day regional competition and then getting through to the National Championships where they represent their state by competing against the best of the best.

From there, competitors must apply for international selection and if chosen, have to go through months of rigorous training in the lead up to the international competition.

We applaud the hard work and dedication of our Painting & Decorating Skillaroos and can’t wait to see how they go!

WorldSkills National Championship 2025 - Brisbane, QLD

The WorldSkills National Championship will be held in Brisbane in 2015, and we’re pleased to announce that Monarch will provide all the paint accessories our competitors need to complete their tasks.

In addition to the competition, this event will also feature a Career Pathways Expo for high school students with the opportunity for them to give painting a go!
